Form Generation Tools for Bamboo Craft

The current trend of prefabricated industrial use of bamboo doesn’t really use its natural advantageous structure. This project aimed to design kit of precision tools for bamboo coiled jewellery. This process uses bamboo strips, which has been a traditional material in India. Tools are inspired by paper quilling craft tools. In which coloured strips of paper (similar to bamboo strips) are used generate different shape and form and allows the user to explore new designs. Reduction of lead time is achieved by reducing time for precise replication. Ease in manufacture, assembly, replication are its key features. The tool generated shapes can be used in other bamboo products.
