First Response Medical Rescue Vehicle for extreme climatic conditions

First Response Medical Rescue Vehicle for extreme climatic conditions

Prof. Nishant Sharma

Over 53 million people reside in the high altitude, Himalayan regions of North India are a fascinating and awe-inspiring part of the country's diverse landscape. Due to the rugged terrain and extreme cold weather conditions, transportation infrastructure in these high altitude regions is often limited and challenging. One of the significant challenges is the lack of adequate medical and rescue services, further compounded by the difficulty in accessing them. The remote and rugged terrain makes it challenging for emergency medical services to reach remote villages and trekking routes promptly, posing a risk to local communities. The aim of this project was to observe and understand these very challenges prevelant in the region. Furthermore, develop a purpose built vehicle that provides quick and effective medical treatment and rescue to the affected local communities, no matter the terrain or weather intensity.

Stealth Drone inspired by the Nature, Form and Anatomy of an owl

Stealth Drone inspired by the Nature, Form and Anatomy of an owl

Prof. Nishant Sharma

STRIGIFORMES (Scientific order - owls) are one of the most efficient and deadly, primarily nocturnal raptors. They are largely divided into 2 sub-species, 'strigidae' and 'tytonida' While these sub species differ in their environment; their form, anatomy and attributes which make them such efficient hunters are common throughout. Owls have several visual, aural and anatomical features like layered wings, eye orientation, face structure and low wing loading that increase their hunting efficiency. The aim of this project is to observe this very silent, aerodynamic and effcient nature of the owl, understand the anatomical features that result in them and translate them onto a relevant product - in this case, a stealth drone.
