FINA has received a prestigious nomination as one of the Top 6 Student Demos at Laval Virtual ReVolution 2023, held in Laval, France.
FINA focuses on file management in virtual reality through the use of simple hand gestures. Most VR Operating Systems still use ray-casting as the default interaction menthod which mimics pointer based interactions for screen-based interfaces. In this project we explore conncept of Virtual Tangibility- making interactions like cut, copy, paste, delete etc more immersive, using metophorical and tangible
Through our implementation, users could interact with files and folders in a natural and tangible manner, eliminating the need for traditional input devices like controllers or keyboards. The intuitive nature of hand gestures allowed users to select individual files, group multiple files together, move them to desired locations, copy them for duplication, and delete them when necessary.
By embracing the concept of 3D interfaces, we aimed to bridge the gap between traditional 2D file management and the immersive capabilities of virtual reality. Our goal was to create an efficient and visually appealing environment that leveraged the advantages of VR technology while adhering to practical design.

With the high-rise of interstate migration, people moving to the outskirts of the metro cities face various challenges. While learning the local language might not be essential to survival, in the long run it becomes an important part to blend into the culture of a society. This project takes up as an exploration towards understanding learning and teaching strategies involved in language learning. Kannada is set as the target language for Hindi speakers.
Kannada (Dravidian language spoken in the state of Karnataka) is an Agglutinative Language, meaning words may contain different morphemes to determine their meaning of the whole word. i.e, many words in a sentence are suffix/prefix conjunctions of smaller words both in spoken and written forms. And non-native speakers often struggle with speaking the full Kannada words.
I explore a learning system that attempts to effectively tackle this issue. Unlike any traditional orthographic or sound mapping based language learning, this system divides the words into root words and suffix groups and allows users to hands-on create and separate words.
