Generative Bar Stools

Generative Bar Stools

Prof. ABC

The goal of the project was to explore the process of generative design, and to try and understand how we can incorporate it in the realm of furniture design, see what novelty factors they can bring in and how one can combine it with the traditional forms of materials and their manufacturing processes to create products that blend seamlessly. Given the unique and organic aesthetic the process brings with it, it was apt to create furniture pieces such as bar stools, that are not only a functional unit but also an aesthetic statement for the space they are placed in using this design and form finding process.

Personal Physiotherapy and Exercise Equipment for Patients with Muscle Function Loss

Personal Physiotherapy and Exercise Equipment for Patients with Muscle Function Loss

Prof. ABC

This project was aimed towards understanding the need of physiotherapy for patients of MND/ALS, and identifying the gap where personal physiotherapy devices can help the patient maintain their condition. Muscle atrophy is a problem that all patients deal with, due to the nature of the disease but with help of physiotherapy exercises its pace can be reduced and their flexibilities be maintained. But not all patients have enough help or facilities to undergo such exercises. So our goal was set to create a passive motion device to aid patients with any muscle function loss disease. It would passively mimic the flexion-extension motion of the ankle. After detailed ideation, brainstorming and prototyping the final mechanism and product was finalised, tested and detailed.
