Retro Styling – Citroën Ds 1955
Citroen Ds manufactured and marketed by the French company Citroën from 1955 to 1975. Styled by Italian sculptor, industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and the French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre, the DS was known for its aerodynamic futuristic body design and innovative technology.
Design Process–
The first step was to understand the design language of Citroën, starting from the volumes and proportions and then the stance and surfaces. it was achieved by sketching the existing vehicles made by Citroën. The second step was to look at the design of the particular vehicle “Ds 1955″ and understand the various design features. Thereafter ideation was done keeping in mind both the language of Citroën and the design features of Ds. The final mockup was made on thermocol in 1:5 scale.
