Navigational System for Visually Impaired People (Focused on Signage Design)
Signage are very important for the purpose of navigation. Without signage, people’s daily life would be a mess.
Since the ancient times signage are visual based, designed for sighted people. But for blind people there is no signage system in place yet, except for braille signages, that appeared in the last few years. This project is focused to design perceivable signage and a system to locate them.
I have designed a tactile tile with the braille pole (braille written on the pole). Tactile tile indicates whenever the braille pole comes and this pole can be located always on the left side of the user. To enhance the experience and to make it more user centric, I added RFID sensor with the pole and audio feedback for the braille.
