Creating Awareness on Child Sexual Abuse

Generations of Indian children have watched their parents remain silent on sexual issues. This silence is further complicated by a tradition that demands that every child must respect and obey all elders. And so children obey and remain silent, no matter what the elders do.

Globally, researches have shown that children who are taught about the difference between a safe and unsafe touch are empowered to prevent abuse and also are able to seek help if

they find themselves in a situation of an unsafe touch.

This project is an attempt to create a safe platform at home by initiating the conversation among parents and children on child sexual abuse with the help of a book.

By the very nature of the topic, parents are reluctant to talk to their kids. This book helps to mitigate their problem, by introducing sensitive information in a healthy way, bringing parents and kids together.

Various activities are added in between the story to keep the child engaged. It also tests the understanding of the topic by the kid. The parents would read the story while the kid graze through the illustration.

The images here shows the activity by which the child will get to know the private body parts. The idea behind giving information regarding these parts is to inform a child about safe as well as unsafe touch.
