Children of broken families
Nowadays the rate of broken family is alarmingly increasing. Although the effect falls on both the spouses, even the child goes through all the hardships and troubles which remain unseen by all. It’s affects are huge on the children, which leads them to depression, insecurity and many other mental problems.
The project, ‘Children of broken family’ deals with the psychology of a child, of how the regular fights at home affects the child’s behaviour, actions, choices and decision making abilities for throughout his life. The project is an attempt to sensitize parents towards this issue. The output of this project is a short animation film through the child’s point of view.
As the idea and story was finalised for the film, I made storyboards based on the storyline. Every angle, positions of objects and characters and expressions were decided while making the storyboards. It helped me to make the final visuals fir the film.
Every visual in the film is hand drawn and hand painted using acrylic colours. The reason I decided to use hand painted visuals is because I feel more attached to my work when I draw and paint it on the paper rather then digitally. So I used the traditional way of hand art to make the animation. However lately, the visuals were compiled together digitally in Photoshop and Premiere Pro to make the final film possible.
The visuals are the final frames from the film.
